In the summer, my grandmother used to put apple sauce and milk in it and put it in the refrigerator, and it was like drinking the weirdest, grossest, thickest non-milkshake. I was watching an episode of Seinfeld today, after I had written something with Farina in it, and Seinfeld mentioned that, in childhood, there was a hair in his farina and he cried.
I grew up eating wheatena which is a brown, gritty goop that is actually quite delicious with some honey or syrup and milk. Though I bought a box when I lived at the redhouse and it certainly didn’t hold up to my memories.
