danemartin asked: I have never had Wheatina, but I am guessing the products are identical. Farina completely varies in consistency depending on who makes it. In the summer, my grandmother used to put apple sauce and milk in it and put it in the refrigerator, and it was like drinking the weirdest, grossest, thickest non-milkshake. I was watching an episode of Seinfeld today, after I had written something with Farina in it, and Seinfeld mentioned that, in childhood, there was a hair in his farina and he cried.

I grew up eating wheatena which is a brown, gritty goop that is actually quite delicious with some honey or syrup and milk. Though I bought a box when I lived at the redhouse and it certainly didn’t hold up to my memories.
